At Peloton, the Platform organization builds products that enable teams to build and deploy applications more quickly, enabling our engineers to maximize attention on new features and capabilities. Using both quantitative and qualitative feedback from engineers across the organization, we build tools and services that solve problems for the teams building the software that create the best outcomes for our members.
The Orchestration Foundation group provides autonomous capabilities for teams to deploy, manage and scale applications on Peloton's infrastructure. We build services that enable teams to take their application, containerize it, specify resource utilization limits and deploy it to our Kubernetes clusters. Being part of this team will lend you the opportunity to make an impact not just within your team but the engineering organization as a whole.
YOUR DAILY IMPACT AT PELOTON
Implement redundancy, load balancing, and auto-scaling mechanisms to ensure high availability, resiliency, and fault tolerance for applications and services at the container orchestration layer.
Continuously optimize resource usage and allocation to minimize costs and improve performance across the orchestration ecosystem.
Enable teams to easily access and analyze cost insights related to resource usage and allocation across their applications deployed to our Kubernetes clusters.
Maintain a secure orchestration foundation and implement best practices.
Consult in system design to meet reliability and capacity requirements.
Automate everything, from infrastructure down to day-to-day tasks.
Seek out potential threats to security and reliability and advocate for modern solutions.
Host a critical infrastructure that ensures that our members have the best experience possible on tens of thousands of pods across multiple clusters.
Work with Kubernetes, Amazon Web Services, Golang, ArgoCD, Github Actions, Kong, Istio & CloudFlare.
Be a part of a positive and inclusive culture that is hyper-focused on solving developer challenges.
Mentor engineers on standard methodologies and work across teams to help build longer-term roadmaps and build our technical vision.
YOU BRING TO PELOTON
Experience writing and deploying applications to a production environment on Kubernetes with one or more languages like Golang, Python, Typescript, Rust (bonus!), etc.
Experience operating one or more Kubernetes clusters running in production.
Experience writing operators to automate tasks within Kubernetes clusters.
Experience working on application lifecycle management tools, e.g., ArgoCD or Flagger.
Strong background in backend infrastructure, distributed systems, and performance analysis.
Strong understanding of software engineering principles and fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, and testability.
Strong experience with developing and deploying code in containerized environments.
Experience with delivering solutions on AWS or other public cloud platforms.

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this position based at our New York City headquarters. The actual base salary offered for this position will depend on numerous factors including individual performance, business objectives, and if the location for the job changes.
