Job Title: Plant Manager

Location: Hammond, IN

Salary: $120,000-$140,000

LHH Recruitment Solutions is currently seeking a Plant Manager to join our client's organization in the Hammond, IN area.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the distribution center, including vendor relations, maintenance, inventory, and shipping.
• Lead and develop supervisors and site leadership to achieve operational and performance goals.
• Partner with HR and Training teams to ensure proper staffing, onboarding, and performance management.
• Drive safety initiatives to reduce hazards and ensure compliance with all protocols.
• Analyze production and labor efficiency reports to identify and implement opportunities for improvement.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and cross-functional departments.
• Spend significant time on the production floor, working alongside team leaders and operators to maximize performance.

Key Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience in manufacturing or distribution operations.
• At least 4 years in a leadership role managing people.
• Strong background in distribution, operations, and safety management.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Experience in the steel or related manufacturing industry preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
• Proactive problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
• Effective written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency with ERP/CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Cultural competency and ability to engage across all levels of the organization.
