Job Description The Avery Dennison Identification Solutions group is looking for an Engineer to join the Manufacturing Engineering team at our site in Miamisburg, Ohio. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will have the opportunity to lead and execute cost savings projects that are directly tied to key strategic goals for the business.
Roles and Responsibilities
As an Manufacturing Engineer, you will have the opportunity to make an impact by:
\n - Promoting safety as the most important value in the organization by contributing through training, process improvement and other environmental, health, and safety responsibilities
\n - Documenting standard processes and procedures for implementation and training
\n - Developing and implementing production/processing methods and controls to meet quality standards in the most cost efficient manner.
\n - Providing support to manufacturing to resolve production and quality issues that arise on a day-to-day basis
\n - Working with machine repair team members to analyze root cause and define corrective actions for future preventive maintenance
\n - Conducting technical inspections of complex machines
\n - Recommending and implementing improvements and/or modifications in sequence of operations, equipment utilization, and related matters
\n - Evaluating and approving design changes, specifications and drawing releases
\n - Partnering with the Manufacturing Engineering Manager to develop and execute projects that are a part of the Identifications Enterprise Lean Sigma journey
\n - Managing special projects; which could include supplier relationships, production performance management, sustainability, and other ad hoc projects
\n - Setting project schedules by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and solving problems
\n - Defining requirements for new equipment validation run-off
\n - Preparing new machines and production equipment for operation
\n - Optimizing direct and indirect manufacturing labor and in-plant material flow through the use of industrial engineering methods including line balancing, time studies, as well as both in-plant and external material flow
\n - Designing and planning equipment layouts

Qualifications To set you up for success in this role, Avery Dennison requires the following qualifications:
\n - Bachelor's Degree in related field (Engineering, Mechanical/Industrial) or 2-4 years of experience in an engineering function in a manufacturing environment
\n - Knowledgeable in Electronic Systems (wire diagrams, schematics, PLC logic .. ect.)
\n - Knowledgeable in Mechanical Systems (Cams, Torque requirements, ect.)
\n - Excellent math and analytical skills
\n - Excellent communication and organization skills with an emphasis on detail
\n - Understanding of process documentation and improvement
\n - Proficiency with applicable computer systems, such as Microsoft Office and Google Apps (mail, docs, sheets, slides, forms)
\n

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed in this role are as follows:
\n - Working experience in Oracle E-Business Suite R12
\n - Proficient creating 3D models and 2D prints using Solidworks or related CAD software.
\n - Proficient in AutoCAD 2D for facility layout planning
\n - High-energy, self-directed, self-starter
\n - Ability to execute multiple projects with minimal supervision
\n - Ability to work comfortably in a dynamic, fast-paced, and matrixed organization
\n - Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional groups to define and execute overall requirements
